  22. BEN KINCHLOW:
  23. Joining us now, from Washington, is James Davidson, who is the 
  24. editor of the *Strategic Investment Newsletter*, which is one of 
  25. the more vocal critics of the Foster investigation.
  26.  
  27. And thank you very much for joining us, Mr. Davidson.

  30. JAMES DAVIDSON:
  31. My pleasure.
  32.  
  33.  
  34. KINCHLOW:
  35. Every detail, *ad nauseum*, of the O.J. Simpson case is front- 
  36. page news, seemingly. Why does it seem that the death of a top 
  37. White House lawyer has almost dropped off of the media's map?!
  38.  
  39.  
  40. DAVIDSON:
  41. You've asked one of the most puzzling questions, which I think 
  42. historians, in the future, *will* ask about this crime, which in 
  43. my mind is *clearly* a murder which has not been reported. And in 
  44. many cases, prominent people in the press *know* that a cover-up 
  45. took place.
  46.  
  47. And I'll give you just an example, which I think is incredibly 
  48. important: On April the 4th of last year [1994], the *Wall Street 
  49. Journal* ran an article by a woman named Ellen Pollock(sp?), 
  50. which claimed that the Fiske investigation of Foster's death 
  51. would determine that he was a suicide. And they quoted, by name, 
  52. a Mr. Langler(?), who was the deputy to Fiske.
  53.  
  54. Now what makes this very, very incriminating is that the Senate 
  55. Banking Committee, many months later, detailed a chronology of 
  56. *when* the Fiske investigation interviewed the witnesses, 
  57. obtained the FBI lab reports, and got the independent pathology 
  58. reports. Basically, the evidence was only gathered *after* they 
  59. had already told the *Wall Street Journal* that they were going 
  60. to declare he was a suicide.
  61.  
  62. It's just as if [Judge] Lance Ito and the jurors in the Simpson 
  63. trial had granted an interview to the *Wall Street Journal* a 
  64. month before the trial began, and told everybody what the verdict 
  65. would be! That is indicative of a very substantial perversion of 
  66. the process of investigation.
  67.  
  68.  
  69. TERRY MEEUWSEN:
  70. Mr. Davidson, if Foster's death was not a simple suicide, what 
  71. other potential scenario may have occurred, in your opinion?
  72.  
  73.  
  74. DAVIDSON:
  75. Well I'm not in a position to explain *why* he was murdered, or 
  76. by whom. But I can certainly tell you that the evidence that has 
  77. been gathered does not make any sense. You saw parts of a tape 
  78. that has been prepared, which we invite anybody to look at (and I 
  79. hope that many, many people do.) Because we need to bring 
  80. pressure, right now, on the *current* investigation. Because Mark 
  81. Touhy(sp?), who is the assistant special prosecutor under Mr. 
  82. Starr, has been compromising this investigation. *Three* of the 
  83. top investigators who are working on this case have *resigned*, 
  84. recently, because they were frustrated and [were] refused 
  85. permission to call witnesses before the grand jury and collect 
  86. evidence.
  87.  
  88. I think we're in the process of having yet *another* cover-up of 
  89. this man's murder.
  90.  
  91. And the evidence that he was murdered is *really* overwhelming -- 
  92. the forensic evidence. This is another thing: when we talked 
  93. about the press, and why they haven't reported this -- seven or 
  94. eight of the top forensic experts in this country have testified 
  95. that the pattern of powderburns on Foster's fingers is not 
  96. consistent with suicide. Nysad Hyub(?) of the Lethal Force 
  97. Institute said, "Inconsistent with what both experience and logic 
  98. show us to be true of a suicidal person."
  99.  
  100. Dr. Richard Mason, who is a pathologist for Santa Cruz, 
  101. California, says, "It doesn't make any sense."
  102.  
  103. Martin Thatchler(sp?), head of the U.S. Army's Wounds Ballistic 
  104. Laboratory for many years, said, "If you have to ask, 'Is this an 
  105. indication of foul play?'" He says, "Yeah. Maybe it is."
  106.  
  107. Robert Tawber(sp?), who was the firearms expert for the FBI SWAT 
  108. team for many years, said, "I never heard of anyone gripping a 
  109. gun like this."
  110.  
  111. You go down the line: very, very powerful forensic evidence shows 
  112. that he [Foster] could not have fired the gun.
  113.  
  114. There are other, very strong bits of evidence that have been 
  115. testified to, under affidavit. An Arkansas State Trooper named 
  116. Roger Perry has testified in an affidavit and *told* the English 
  117. press that he received a phone call from the White House at 5:30 
  118. [p.m.] Arkansas time [6:30 p.m. Washington, DC], on the day 
  119. Foster died, from a woman who is Chelsea Clinton's nanny, who was 
  120. *hysterical* because, she said that Vincent Foster was dead in 
  121. the parking lot of the White House!
  122.  
  123. Now these are very important clues that need to be investigated.
  124.  
  125. There was a photograph that was released, on ABC News, that 
  126. showed Foster's hand, in a gun, with the trigger guard caught 
  127. around his thumb. And it shows, clearly, a lot of thick 
  128. vegetation around Foster's body. Yet the positioning of his body 
  129. in the police reports and in the Fiske report put his body in a 
  130. place where there was *no* vegetation. Experts have gone to that, 
  131. to the park, and examined the vegetation photographed *in* that 
  132. photograph. And they testified that *no* vegetation like that 
  133. grows anywhere *near* where the police said his body was found!
  134.  
  135. You go down this list of anomalies: *Why* is his body covered, 
  136. head to toe, with carpet fibers? There were no carpets on that 
  137. park!
  138.  
  139. I think that the evidence is very clear that he was murdered, and 
  140. his murder is being covered up for reasons of political 
  141. convenience. And this makes the O.J. Simpson trial pale down to 
  142. the size of a pimple, as compared to a cancer. This is a very, 
  143. very important issue, and every American listening to this 
  144. broadcast should write to your congressman and *insist* that the 
  145. truth be told, regardless of what the consequences are in terms 
  146. of political fallout.
  147.

  149. KINCHLOW:
  150. Mr. Davidson, let me ask you just one final question here (we're 
  151. running out of time). But I just... There are people who say that 
  152. this is simply more of the conspiracy-type theories, and you 
  153. ought to let the man rest in peace. And some of your critics say 
  154. you're simply *inventing* conspiracy theories about Foster.
  155.  
  156. Would you please respond to that, in about a minute?
  157.  
  158.  
  159. DAVIDSON:
  160. I'd be glad to debate anybody who claims that they have evidence 
  161. that Foster is a suicide, and just look, specifically, point by 
  162. point, at the evidence. If Fiske, in his report, or Touhy, in his 
  163. current cover-up, were to come forward with explicit, rational 
  164. answers for the amazing anomalies and evidence that *show* that 
  165. he was murdered, then I would say, "Well fine. Then he was 
  166. murdered... if he was a suicide, that is."
  167.  
  168. The reason that I'm upset about this is because I believe we're 
  169. seeing happening to the United States what has happened to Mexico 
  170. and other countries: where prominent people, even top government 
  171. officials, can be murdered if they know something that 
  172. compromises somebody in power. And that's it! They just cover it 
  173. up and they go on about their business as if it never happened!
